The Oil and Gas industry faces a number of challenges in recovering fossil fuels. The methods that are chosen are dependent on the economics of fuel prices. To make the economics work, they often need large volumes of water each day and frequently pump long distances and with varying elevations. They regularly move equipment around to different job sites and look fro ways to avoid using the standard “Dry prime” diesel pumps that require high fuel and labour costs to operate.
Pumptronics solutions can use electrically driven submersible turbine or centrifugal pumps on generators to provide higher pressures and flows than are available with standard Dry-prime pumps. Automated pumps with Variable Frequency Drive technology are able to automatically vary flow rates based on site conditions and needs. Remote automation technology allows operators to remotely monitor and control the pumps in order to react to changing water levels in streams and lakes, and if required, match pump output to the water permit regulations.
